I have been a keen photographer since I got a Kodak Brownie Fiesta as a kid in the 60s, and I earned my Open Water Certification in 1991. However, my busy work schedule limited me to a few holiday dives until I retired. Over the last few years, I have taken liveaboard trips to Tubbataha Reef, Raja Ampat and Halmahera, and the Great Barrier Reef. In Sydney, I dive with Saint George Scuba Diving Club (SGSDC) most weeks, and with the Underwater Research Group (URG) several times a year. I started with videography, but beautiful photos from my SGSDC and URG buddies inspired me to try underwater photography. So, I bought a compact camera and strobe, took an online underwater photography course, and headed to Indonesia's Lembeh Strait for a workshop that reignited my love for macrophotography.
